The work of Randy Polumbo, "strange fruit", has been rooted in technology and relied on the retooling of found objects into provocative mechanical devices for a long time. The desert inspired Randy to start making his own objects from scratch, and adapting traditional American and Native American craft methods, but in unusual applications. Randy credits his residency at PASTA's (Park Stewardship Through the Arts) Lost Horse Station, in Joshua Tree National Park with directing him to explore territory that he could not have considered otherwise.
"strange fruit" will be on exhibit from May 1-31, 2006
